twice the smartass, half the laughs
Post Date:

Today is my mother's birthday (wow, back to back birthday postings). This morning I called to wish her a happy birthday and tried to get Allee to do the same. She kind of whispered it, but my mom (her Nanni) was able to here it. Here's something insanely cute about our ride to daycare this morning. I gave Allee a ziplock bag full of cheerios (well, not really cheerios, but the generic equivalent) for her to munch on, on the way. As we were riding, I asked her "Allee, what kind of cereal are you eating?" I expected her to say "cheerios", but what she said was "mine." She was eating "her" cereal. How awesome is that? I laughed pretty good at that one.

Speaking of Allee, we had a pretty good weekend. Saturday was kind of difficult, as she was adamantly opposed to taking a nap, but was really irritable due to her tiredness. Yesterday though, she did have a nap and was in great spirits. Oh, right, I posted a gallery of her first trip to a parade. It was the St. Patrick's day parade on Sunday, March 12. She had a really good time. Just click the "Allee Pics" link to the left to see it.

What else? Well, yesterday my friend Chris and I went on a bike ride on the Trace. The Trace is a bike/run/walk path that was created out of an old railroad track. I think it's like 20 miles long or something. It runs, I think, from Slidell to Abita. It was pretty cool. Chris estimates we did about 12-15 miles. I'm only a little sore today. I've lived in Mandeville for going on three years now and that was the first time I got on the Trace. It will not be the last time though (hopefully it won't take me another three years to get back on it). Oh, something else I wanted to mention. As I stated before, I have a MySpace account and my friend's list includes some of the cast of "The Office" (celebrity types, from what I can tell, generally add people indiscriminately). Anyway, when I logged into my account yesterday, there was a message from none other than Angela Kinsey (who plays Angela on the Office). It was just a simple thank you note. I posted a fairly flattering comment on her page, and I guess she appreciated it. I know it didn't take much time for her to fire off a message to me, and I don't know if she sends everyone little notes like that when they say something nice about her, but I think that's pretty darn cool. So, thanks Angela. You seem like a neat lady.

Anyway, That's it for now. Once again, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my wonderful mother. I love you very much (awe, mama's boy). If you see her today, be sure to wish her a happy birthday. And, be sure to check out the pics of Allee.

Until next time: Just an inch...between striking out and striking rich...that's the I'll take it.
